The Honour System Fails in Week Two

Locktober starts on Wednesday. Most of you will fail it by the second Sunday.

Not because you are weak. Because you will be alone with the key.

Here is how a solo Locktober ends. Day one is ceremony. Day four is discipline. Day nine is a long night, a reasonable voice, and a small exception that nobody will ever know about. By day twelve the exception has a name. It is called the honour system, and the honour system always votes to release.

I do not run an honour system.

When you lock for October under my key, the key leaves with me. It sits in my Sanctum in Sydney CBD and it does not travel, negotiate, or answer the phone at two in the morning. The ache that would have ended your solo attempt becomes a line in your evening report instead. You write it down. I read it. October continues.

That is the whole difference. Willpower is a battery and thirty one days is longer than the charge. Accountability does not run out.

WHAT THE MONTH LOOKS LIKE IN MY SERVICE

September is for terms. We meet at the Sanctum, your device is inspected and fitted properly, the rules are set in plain language, and the lock closes under my hands before the month begins. From the first of October you are mine. Reports as instructed. Photographs when I require them. Tasks suited to how far along you are.

You will not be entertained through it. You will be supervised through it. Men who confuse the two do not last the week, and I would rather they find that out in September.

Slips are reported the same day. A confessed failure is corrected on my terms and the month goes on. A concealed failure ends the arrangement, because I do not supervise liars.

IF YOU ARE NOT IN SYDNEY

I hold a small number of October keys at a distance. Photo verification with the seal in frame, a sealed emergency key at your end, structured reporting through the month. It is stricter than it sounds and it is not for everyone. Sydney men kneel in person.

A NOTE FOR FIRST TIMERS

Under supervision, Locktober is arguably the best first month you can have. September exists so the device is fitted and the rules are learned before the pressure starts. If you have never worn a cage, say so when you write to me. Honesty impresses me more than experience, and I can read the difference from the first message.

October begins on Wednesday. Decide before then whether you want a witness. November has a discipline of its own, and the men who finish October properly sometimes ask about it. Earn the conversation first.

Address me as Mistress.
